Pluripotent is een term die wordt gebruikt om te verwijzen naar cellen die in staat zijn om zich te ontwikkelen tot verschillende soorten weefsels. Pluripotente cellen hebben de mogelijkheid om zich te ontwikkelen tot alle soorten weefsels, met uitzondering van placenta en extra-embryonale weefsels.
