De bloedsomloop is het proces waarbij het bloed door het lichaam wordt gepompt om zuurstof en voedingsstoffen te leveren aan alle cellen. Het bestaat uit twee delen: de systolische en diastolische circulatie. In de systolische circulatie wordt het bloed vanuit het hart naar de organen en weefsels gepompt, terwijl in de diastolische circulatie het bloed terugkeert naar het hart.
